Thorodin Mountain Music Camp

A weekend of playing, learning, and building a community of musicians

August 25 – 27, 2017

Thorodin Mountain Music Camp is a chance to expand your guitar-playing skills, and build a musical community.  ‘Campers’ choose from a variety of classes, led by professional musicians, dedicated to your growth as a player.  Enjoy a late-summer weekend in the Rocky Mountains, building your guitar chops, making friends, and enjoying classic camp activities.

Fantastic Instructors

Choose classes taught by some of the top players and teachers in Colorado!  They’re here to help you grow as a guitar player, and are available throughout the weekend to help build on what you learn in class.  Learn more about the instructors.

From beginner to expert, fingerpicker, flatpicker, slide-guitar and songwriting, TMMC has an option for you!  Our classes are designed to give campers a strong foundation in their desired subject area, with time to connect with instructors 1:1 to build on what is presented in class, or to ask questions and get feedback on other areas of your playing! Camp Granite Lake is a 135-acre private camp and retreat center, located at 9,000 feet, and just 45 minutes from Denver and Boulder.  Enjoy fishing and canoeing at our beautiful 8-acre lake, or relax, pick your guitar, and chat with friends over coffee in our lodge.  Our kitchen crew prepare delicious meals, and attendees may rest in comfortable, rustic, but well appointed cabins, or just pitch a tent!

Arrive to camp on Friday afternoon ready to immerse yourself in a weekend for guitar-playing, friendship, and mountain beauty.  We’ll jump right into the classes you chose during registration, before breaking for a delicious dinner in our lakeside dining hall. We’ll spend the evening around the campfire, building on what we learned in class.  Enjoy an early morning stroll around camp before meeting for breakfast.  We’ll spend Saturday morning in class, before student performances and time for canoeing, fishing, and hiking in the afternoon.  Students will be treated to an instructor performance on Saturday night before another evening around the campfire.  After breakfast on Sunday, we’ll enjoy our last class before saying farewell until next year!
